The piece approaches the figure of the mother from an archetypal perspective, understanding the maternal as a symbolic core that oscillates between protection and threat. In Jungian theory, the Mother archetype carries a dual dimension: it is a source of care, nourishment, and refuge, but it can also manifest as an absorbing, restrictive, or devouring force.
In these images, the repetition of the pose between mother and daughter not only evokes genealogical continuity, but also the unconscious transmission of affective and relational patterns. The family thus appears as a space of care, but also as the site where wounds, mandates, and shadows are silently inherited.
The work invites us to think of motherhood beyond its idealization, showing how within it coexist the luminous and the dark, the visible and the repressed, revealing the constant tension between love, dependence, and familial destiny.
This special piece has been created for collectors and bidders of the previous works (1/1s) from this series, "We built some safe places" and "I don't like adventures".
