Nihilium

Deep in the furthest richest of infinite space, in the most remote regions of the final frontier, the Space Station Nihilium charts a course for oblivion. Though it’s spent centuries in search of the end of all known life, the journey truly began millenia ago. In a time when the stars were only specks in the night sky, people looked up and longed for its distant comfort. Once society gave them the opportunity to see the stars up close, the light blinded them. Though the ship set out originally in search of answers, the growing abstract of space began to descend into madness. A growing faction perverted the mission from knowledge to destruction, in praise of the infinite nothing. Research projects took to more surreal and absurd bends, as the people aboard the Nihilium sought to prove the purposelessness of life. In their efforts, they hoped to break down every fundamental rule of existence, and find the source of the Big Bang by battering at the walls of reality. But the laws of physics are stronger than most, and death plays by her own rules. The ship’s populace is whittled down to next to nothing, each waiting their turn for death to claim them in her own time.
