An animated 3D piece featuring six of my traditional media artworks and figure studies, projected in anamorphic perspective onto a twitching cube sculpture.
I've imagined turning my art into 3D interactive pieces since I was a kid. Digital tablets, VR galleries, haptic feedback sculpting tools. Wild thoughts steadily becoming reality.
In 1638, at age 25, Jean-Francois Niceron published "The curious perspectives or artificial magic of marvellous effects", a paper describing types of projected and distorted perspectives and illusions.
While exploring the depths of anamorphic mathematics, did Niceron and others in his field also dream of making the kind of creations that are only becoming possible now?
