My creative process explores the intersection of digital technology and organic vulnerability. In this piece, radiance is not a superficial additive; it is an ecstatic biological event. The figure, caught in a moment of self-discovery, represents the awakening of an authentic self that has long been hidden in darkness.
As someone navigating the world with neurodivergence, I often feel like an observer from a different species—masked, armored, and camouflaged. This work illustrates the moment when that masking falls away. The bioluminescent sparkles against the deep shadow and the eruption of delicate flora from the synthetic strands symbolize the intricate, often alien architecture of my inner world finally blooming outward. It is a visual manifestation of the open call's prompt: radiance as presence, not perfection. It is the healing act of allowing one's strange, inherent light to be seen.
