Whoever holds this NFT has the right to legally change my first and middle name to whatever they like.
My current name is Barry David Bishop. But now, you can change that. My name passes across thousands of eyes every day, from bank workers, to government agencies. My name is always visible in bureaucracy, and to everyone who meets me... and many more who don't.
In 2012, a man named Jason Sadler leased his last name only with highly restrictive stipulations, after leasing his name for one year per client, for multiple years, at roughly $50,000/yr he reclaimed his name and settled on Jason Zook. In the end, he believed his name had to have meaning. I DONT.
I am not leasing my name as Mr. Zook did. I am selling it, forever, to whomever holds this NFT. You can change it once, and burn the NFT, leaving me with that name forever, or change it twice then sell the NFT (but only for equal or more than you paid for it, and only with a public blockchain record.) I won’t have my name back until someday when I can afford to maybe buy it back… but I probably won’t. Mr. Zook also placed restrictions on his name change and reserved the right to refuse one… with my name, if the judge will approve it, then I’ll accept it.
Name me something ridiculous! Name me after your company! I don’t care!
This is an exploration of identity and expression. It is my belief that my name does not define me as who I am. Who I am is more a product of what is inside of me, and selling my name gives a broader definition of me than my name itself ever did.
The rules:
No rules on what names you can or cannot choose. No time limit.
The law in the US does place minimal restrictions on a legal name change. Please check into them before purchasing. I am placing no additional restrictions on the name change.
This is only for my first and middle names. I will retain my last name (Bishop) due to the wishes of my family.
In addition to the NFT price, you must cover all legal fees for the name change. These fees are typically nominal (a few hundred US dollars)
If this NFT is sold, the rights carry over to the new owner, so long as it is sold for more or an equal amount of ETH, as the seller paid for it, there is a public blockchain record of the exchange, and royalties on all sales are paid.
Once you change it, you cannot change it again for another year… this is simply because name changes are bureaucratic nightmares, and once a year is enough to have to deal with.
I will meet any buyer, face to face, to discuss and prove a name change.

PROCEEDS ALLOCATION:
25% of the proceeds will benefit Rarible artists, through art purchases. Art will be purchased, put up for resale, and any proceeds therefore into perpetuity will continue to buy and sell art on Rarible.
ROYALTIES AND ROYALTY ALLOCATION:
There is a 20% royalty fee on secondary sales of this NFT. This is automatically deducted if sold on Rarible. Denominated in ETH.
If the NFT is sold outside of Rarible, rights to my name will revert back to me until — the royalties (20%) from EVERY SALE which occurred outside of Rarible and which royalties were not paid, are paid to me. Denominated in ETH (Example: If it is sold twice outside of Rarible, and royalties were paid on neither sale, the party who holds the NFT will be held responsible for royalties of 20% on BOTH sales)
If a sale is made with no public blockchain record of the amount, all rights to my name revert permanently back to me.
If a sale is made for less than the price of the previous sale, or the NFT is transferred for free, all rights to my name revert permanently back to me. (Sale price must equal to or greater than the previous price.)
50% of all royalty proceeds are to be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma society in perpetuity.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The NFT must stay permanently in the wallet that made the purchase. If it is transferred to another wallet without paying royalties the rights to my name revert permanently back to me, as this will be considered transferring it for free EVEN IF IT IS YOUR OWN WALLET.
Once purchase is complete: Please contact me via twitter (@shitcoinhodler) or telegram (@dumpsterdude) or via email (theevilcult AT gmail dot com) to begin arrangements for the name change.
