The mission has failed. The signals from the ships exploring the newly discovered galaxy of Moondas have become undetectable, although we still receive traces of information that can be assembled into maps of distant planets. A total of 601 ships were lost. Each ship was instructed to map as many solar systems as possible and include the following details: (1) star type, (2) the three planets closest to the solar system (3) any comets or asteroid belts of importance. As the information from these ghost ships is trickling in, we don't know how much they were able to map. The maps we do have show the solar systems that the ships managed to explore.
The Federation of Human Life Forms decided to sell the maps of the solar systems discovered. The proceeds will be used to raise public awareness of the mission and renew the rescue efforts.
Not all hope is lost.
