When I started to love myself, I understood that longing and suffering were merely warning signs that I was living against my own nature. Today I know this is honesty.

When I started to love myself, I realized how much I could hurt someone by imposing my desires on them, knowing that the time wasn’t right and they weren’t ready, even if that person was myself. Today I call this respect.
