My family is rooted in the Udmurt people. The bear is one of the central totem animals of the Udmurts. I have always felt my take with nature, and even now I continue to live in the forest.
The bear is an ancient ambivalent symbol, having both solar and lunar meaning. As a solar symbol, it reflects the masculine principle (yang), while the lunar symbol corresponds to the feminine principle (yin).
As a solar mythical hero, the bear personifies supernatural strength, power, courage, he fights evil and defeats it.
In the category of the Moon, the bear symbolizes rebirth, new life, and therefore initiation, rites of passage.
The bear is also found as a symbol of maternal strength, care, warmth.
