“Fata Morgana” was the name given in the Middle Ages to an illusion that deceived sailors: imaginary cities rising on the horizon, images promising salvation. In today’s world, however, this illusion no longer belongs to the dreams of a traveler lost at sea, but emerges within the desires of the modern individual, seemingly complex yet fundamentally simple. The shadow cast by a plastic bag, evoking what is not truly there, surpasses the reality of the object itself. This illusion is not merely an optical play, but a fragile projection of the desire for freedom produced by simulation. The work unites the imagined images of the past with the illusions of the present, reminding us that the distance between what is seen and what is longed for never truly closes.
