‘Mirror to the Sky’ is the second NFT from Ross K’s genesis series ‘Takaya’. The series comprises 5 pieces, each corresponds to a track off of his upcoming album (‘Takaya’). The name Takaya comes from a sacred lone wolf that lived on Discovery Island, off of Vancouver Island, Canada.
Each piece embodies a feeling of solitude and spiritual transcendence in contact with the natural world, like a lone wolf howling to the moon.
With ‘Mirror to the Sky’, we find ourselves at Garibaldi Lake, a remote glacial lake. Shot with collaborator Štěpánka Silná, the ethereal reflections of the island in the pristine lake immediately inspired me to work with this image. Digitally morphing the reflections and adding cloud-like musical sonorities, I wanted to suck the viewer in, unveiling a portal, a ‘mirror to the sky’.
