Mina was a pretty little felion who had a cheeky brother we called Badger. This portrait of Mina began as a digital photo taken by my brother around 2001/2002, a few years later I decided to create a large scale oil painting from the photo, all that now remains of that painting is another digital photo, which I have processed once more through Adobe Photoshop applying a digital paint stroke effect to the image. This process of back and forth, digital/analog/digital, has given the image a lovely soft quality and for me personally it feels more dream like than the original image, more like my fond but fading memories of her.
