When I was still an art student, I was fascinated, even obsessed, by the figure of Mia Wallace from Pulp Fiction. On the other side, we studied the art of Man Ray and in particular "Tears" (1932/1933). What fascinates me in this photograph is the emotion that the eye gives off. For me, this eye symbolized deep despair. Deep despair that it was interesting to juxtapose with the overdose scene of Mia, who in this film takes drugs to free herself from her condition.
With the digitization of this painting, you can experience the first colorful edition of Mia "Ray" Wallace.
