Mechanical DC

Mecânico DC is a sound composition created from recordings of two other works by the artist: Italics (2023), a sound installation with metal sheets and DC motors, and Ballerinas (2024), sound sculptures made with candy wrappers and DC motors. The DC motors—rotational mechanisms present in many everyday functions—serve in this track as the driving force of both movement and sound. Between noise and subtlety, the two recordings engage in a dialogue, seeking to oscillate between the crackle of a child’s toy and the rumble of something that seems about to explode.
