The Chamber Dormant

Breaking Gently Apart
A photograph of the deep orange harvest moon of Sonoma County California, peering through the clouds only to grace myself and the rolling hills surrounding me. As I hiked up the trail to the apex, waves of nostalgia rolled off me as I renewed my long lost connection to the inner child. Hiking late into the moonlight, taking care to leave my path undisturbed, in awe of the sublime beauty of nature. The piece is similarly representative of the hidden vaults deep inside all of us that exemplify what it means to be human; to enjoy life in all of its forms.
My editing process entails bouncing the original photo between multiple image manipulation phone apps, then once I've become satisfied with the basis, I move it to Photoshop, where I then layer the image multiple times and apply distortion and color manipulating filters via Filter Forge to different layers with varying sequences of blending modes, cascading the effects into a form of organized chaos until, finally, a shape emerges from the dust.
