Some objects are built only to control pressure, to stop, release, or redirect what moves through them.
But sometimes, without meaning to, they begin to resemble something softer.
I found myself staring at this industrial valve as if it were trying to imitate a flower, or maybe a heart pretending to stay mechanical. Cold metal, fixed to a wall, designed without emotion — yet somehow carrying the shape of one.
Maybe that’s what being human feels like lately. Learning how to survive by becoming functional, controlled, efficient… while tiny parts of ourselves still insist on blooming through the structure.
