The psychiatric Clinic already existed in the 19th Century, that was used to treat people with mental illnesses. The Photography shows the large Grand Entrance Hall with high ceiling, stained glass in the doorway and some forgotten Wheelchairs. Those who came to the institution, and not always for real mental health reasons (prostitutes, alcoholics or social misfits were also locked up), risked staying there forever, forgotten by society and subjected to the will of the medical staff too being. What imagined as a hospital was actually a hideous prison with bars and gates everywhere. The institution was finally cleared in the 1990s and left abandoned in silence.
