Shot from a drone drifting silently above Santiago’s iconic Cerro San Cristóbal, this timelapse captures the quiet majesty of the Mother Mary statue as daylight spills across the city. Though I’m not religious, I was drawn to this site—not for its symbolism in faith, but for what it has come to represent to so many: a shared devotion to the idea of mother.
On this particular day, hundreds of people gathered at the base of the statue. Not to pray, necessarily, but to remember. To thank. To grieve. To celebrate life.
This piece isn’t about divinity. It’s about the universal force of motherhood—what it gives, what it costs, and what remains after.
A tribute not to a mother, but to the mother in all forms—human, cosmic, ancestral.
Captured in the air, grounded in love.
