The breeze flows Subtle, gentle Winding chasing Breaths of spring Warm and coaxing Yet cool to soothe As life emerges From soils in sun And wakes reality Again
The diversity blooms Full of life and scent alight And nourishment to feed on To foment length And resilient strength Of community cohesion An ecosystem thrives When each piece Supported strives Within their own pace Mingling with neighbours And siblings and friends Within the space Each has different focus Each has different needs Quality not quantified But together not in greed In supporting fold In communion bold In radical acceptance Of the layers that they hold Symphonies of reverie Beheld and thrice rejoice Epiphanies and memories Never shallow voice The bounties reign Upon the frame No need for claw and tooth Nurture flame Alive not tame Interdependent truth
What is a weed If not the need For purified flat grasses
Who fit to breed If knot the seed By liquid poison gases
Do not take heed A sea of green Symbol of wealth and status
Mono greed Will never feed The diversity of masses
And colonial maps swing and grasp at difference like a threat, cutting down diversity and buy and sell of debt as though the cycle will not close again regardless of the bet.
The touch of tender tinder, the syrup subtle drowns. Illusionary safety gripped as the blade comes bearing down.
Digital recording of Dandelions, Dock, Forget-me-Nots, Plantain, Maple seedlings, grasses in the breeze which are then cut down by a lawnmower in spring. Pruning for sake of order degrades biodiversity and collapses natural ecosystems - in nature and community.
