In the mountains above Sarajevo at about 1500 meters lies Lukomir, the most remote village in all of Bosnia. The village consists mainly of nomadic sheep herders. During the summer months you will find a population of less than 20 people, a few dogs, and an abundance of sheep. In the winter a few sheep, and even fewer people remain due to harsh conditions and inaccessibility. Sheep head out to graze along the edge of the giant canyon.
