2nd photo of my wildlife photo series.
This is a Palawan water monitor lizard endemic in Palawan, Philippines. They can grow up to 6ft including the tail.
The island I went to has a thriving population of large Palawan water monitors because of abundant food in the lake and them being undisturbed.
At first glance on this photo, you would think they are hugging each other, but the truth is they are fighting for their territory and hunting area.
