A moving collage of sorts created in the context of #TezBattle and speaking to the versatility of the senses. When we begin to listen with our eyes, or taste with our ears, entire worlds of sensory experience open up to us!
First image is a Madonna painting by Salvador Dali (1958) in which he demonstrated his great talent for optical illusion. Inside the gargantuan ear is a rendition of Raphael's Sistine Madonna. Many layers of meaning to be explored here, not least of which the cherry hanging from a string! I found Dali's painting to be reminiscent of a halftone texture and I ran with that theme for the next two images.
Humbly echoing Dali, I attempted to push the cognitive dissonance just a tad further. My choice for the soundtrack, which is an excerpt from John Cage's 4'33", was very much made in the same spirit.
