Lilith

"Lilith" is the 6th and final piece of a series titled "The Young Martyr". The series depicts women from different myths or legends and seeks to change the narrative of victimhood and give them agency in their suffering. Lilith is the most notorious demon in Jewish tradition where in some sources, she is conceived of as the original woman. In this painting she is shown to be both frightened but also fascinated from the serpent, signaling a yearning for the dangerous, the unknown and for freedom
