Light Over The Temple

#04 - Light Over The Temple

Light On The Temple. This painting shows the old Temple of Jerusalem as I envision it in my dream. A ray of light shines from heaven, illuminating the dark night, shining love on the place in which the Jewish people, and later Christianity as well as Islam, based their beliefs.

The Temple of Jerusalem, was the centre of worship and national identity in ancient Israel. ... The First Temple was built as a place of assembly for the entire people. The building itself was the most impressive building in that era, considered a jewel, and I tried to show that in my painting.

The Romans destroyed the Temple and Jerusalem in c. 70 CE. Yet in my painting, the Temple goes on existing, forever.
