Let them eat cake

''Let them eat cake'', phrase that's been commonly attributed to Marie Antoinette, but many historians oppose that. Nevertheless this powerful phrase (people are hungry, they have no bread... Let them eat cake) describes insensitivity to or incomprehension of the realities of life for the unfortunate.. This portrait was inspired by this phrase.
