Lava Lamp

Creating this timelapse was completely unexpected. I arrived at this cypress swamp expecting to photograph approaching storms. However, my focus quickly changed when I discovered this algae bloom that was slowly moving with the water currents. The timelapse effect reminded me of watching a lava lamp for hours. The developing cumulus clouds in the distance paired perfectly with the speed of the water currents as well. Sometimes the unexpected moments are the best.
