Komichi no Mise

A snippet from my Japan trip in 2017. When in Nara, I had the chance to visit a tiny eatery that serves authentic homemade Japanese meal in Takabatake area. There was only one table there, and the shop was full of cute, handmade knick knacks.

The owner was so kind she treated us to a full-course lunch. Takikomi gohan no onigiri wrapped in pickled shiso leaf, shimeji gohan no onigiri , miso shiru and konnyaku dengaku topped with yuzu miso paste. It was chilly that day, but that experience warmed my heart especially 😊
