There are people who love to talk about light while standing with their backs turned to those who were thrown into the dark.
They are so gentle with the abuser. So patient with the manipulator. So philosophical when it comes to someone else’s pain. They will always find beautiful words for the one who caused the wound, and almost never protection for the one who was wounded.
Because supporting the victim means admitting that evil exists. And that already ruins the aesthetic of their “universal love”
But pain doesn’t disappear just because someone finds it uncomfortable to look at. A wound doesn’t become smaller because someone called the abuser “someone who also needs to be understood”. And evil doesn’t become good just because it was covered with the language of mercy.
True humanity doesn’t look for “both sides” where there is a wound and the one who caused it. True compassion doesn’t call neutrality wisdom. True love doesn’t ask the victim to become more convenient for those who refuse to see evil and keep softening the abuser’s guilt.
True humanity doesn’t stand in the middle. It stands with the one they tried to break.
