John’s Vision II

This piece is my visual interpretation of John’s vision in Revelations 4-5. In another vision, John is revealed the throne of Heaven with the Alpha and Omega sitting upon it surrounded by four angels. Each bearing a resemblance to faces of familiar terrestrial creatures. Each with six wings and covered from front to back in eyes.

John describes the realm to be gleaming like precious stones we know on earth, like a sea of glass, clear as crystal. As the Spirit possesses him again he is greeted with an applause of thunder and flashes of lightning amongst the Heavenly entities. A realm of sheer beauty quite unfathomable. Again we are greeted with sevens. The seven horned and seven eyed lamb. Surrounding it are seven torches and the scroll which it opens is described to have seven seals.

The number seven is often perceived as a “holy” and “complete” number. It is a recurring number throughout the Bible.
