John’s Vision I by RVREexe

This piece is my visual interpretation of John’s vision in Revelations 1:9. John is possessed by the Spirit on the island of Patmos as the Alpha and Omega is revealed to him bearing seven stars and surrounded by seven lampstands.

The number seven has been a large influence in my personal life. In this instance, it represents the seven Archangels of Heaven and the seven churches of the seven cities. The number seven is often perceived as a “holy” and “complete” number. It is a recurring number throughout the Bible, but also throughout our human experience. Seven days in our week. Our eyes perceive three primary colours of light (RGB) and when combined produce four more (CYMK) totaling seven. Our moon phases are counted in four sevens, with a mysterious moonless night or two completing the full cycle. Ancient cultures believed a vertical rainbow of seven “chakras” flow up our bodies. The influence of seven is everywhere.
