This digital copy is taken from a physical work, which is an oil painting on canvas measuring 120 x 140 cm (47.24 x 55.11 inches), made in 2021. The work is entitled Jackass, the term jackass itself is often used in two meanings, namely the male donkey and the fool. Such dualism of meaning has a correlation with each other, where the second meaning is often metaphorized with the first meaning. That meaning is then tried to be described in most of the narratives of the work. Narratives that question artifacts as evidence that a history has been exiled from the beginning.
Artifacts as material evidence (whether manufactured or not) from a certain historical range of civilization becomes very important to be studied by subsequent civilizations. However, some historical evidence is sometimes difficult to review its textual and contextual roots. This has the implication that historical evidence may be distorted. There is a bias between previous historical references in the future, such as books for example. A book that records a nation's thoughts, culture and historicity is one of the most sought-after references. Its existence by some parties cannot be fully believed that the reference is in accordance with the original source.
The depiction can be captured through a situation in a room where a donkey has dropped a pedestal and chaos ensues. The book in the area where the water spilled from the bucket—of course, got the book wet and the text in it was hard to read because the ink was smudged. It can be read in the practice of colonialism in terms of the cultural literature of a nation. Practices carried out by taking, changing or destroying cultural products in order to support colonial interests. Donkey itself as a language of carelessness or stupidity (as mentioned earlier) tries to be read in the context of the actions of related parties. Due to the negligence of the related parties, the next generation of heirs of the reference sources became alienated from their literary cultural roots.
