I came to Rocky Mountain NP in the fall to watch the elk rut, but also to photograph yellow trees in the valley.
The sky was still hazy from the harsh wildfires, but the sun was fighting through, and a touch of fall ran alongside the asphalt.
As I was driving up and down Trail Ridge Road in the Kawuneeche Valley looking for the elk, in my rear-view I saw this image framed to perfection, pulled over, and waited for the right moment. The old campervan simply brought everything together.
