This piece tells the story of a rotation with no beginning and no end. Sama, the sacred ritual dance of the dervishes, is a movement toward surrender ; a release of the self in search of unity. In this practice, the act of turning reflects the motion of the cosmos; planets revolve in their orbits, and the human being revolves in the orbit of love.
Seen from above, the figure becomes a point at the center of a universe ; the body transforming into an axis of light, as earth and sky seem to rotate around it. One hand raised toward the heavens symbolizes receiving; the other extended toward the earth symbolizes giving. This turning is a journey from dust to meaning.
“Infinite Orbit” captures the moment when the body dissolves and only motion remains ; motion not meant to be seen, but to merge.
