Infinite Corridor

I might be lost, but there are only 2 directions, back and forward. I just have to keep on going. I've walked so much already, it's too late to turn back, and either way I wouldn't want to return.

I recognize some of the graffiti signs on the walls and that's rather comforting. I want to leave my own mark, unfortunately my pockets are empty. Just as I've considered it, I'm surprised to discover a sharpie on the ground, and even more amazed that it still works, I wonder who and when left it here. After scribbling for a while I return the sharpie to where I found it for the next person who may pass here.

I return to admiring the infinite walls and what's more, I've reached a new area where plants have started growing spasmodically. I brush my hand over some ever so gently, I still can't believe they're real.

I finally notice my hunger, but right away I find the so called fruit. I'm afraid it might be poisonous, but I can't resist trying it regardless. It turns out better and tastier than any food I've ever had before. I only wish I could take it back home and share with others. I can't believe how much we had lost with our pursuit for the called progress, but it wasn't too late.

There was still hope that nature would return to us, if we took better care of it this time. As I finish eating the fruit, I pocket the seeds very carefully, saving them for later.
