During my journey through the Nyingchi region of Tibet in 2013, I delved into some Gelugpa monasteries and serendipitously stumbled upon the enigmatic process of crafting Tibetan incense. This mysterious ritual is typically guarded, as if it were a sacred, undisclosed tradition. In this unique incense-making ceremony, traditional craftsmanship intertwines with spiritual beliefs, creating an atmosphere of mystery and solemnity. Burning this Tibetan incense is seen as a supernatural means of communication, laden with wishes and reverence, akin to a silent ceremony that weaves a mysterious connection between humans and the divine.
