The theory of the multiverse, or parallel universes, is one of the most intriguing ideas in modern cosmology. According to this theory, our universe is just one of countless other universes that may have similar or completely different physical laws. The idea stems from the theory of cosmic inflation (the rapid initial expansion of the universe) and the multiverse interpretation of quantum mechanics (such as the Oort interpretation). In some models, these universes exist as separate bubbles in a larger space, and different versions of us may live in them. Although we do not have direct evidence and the theory has not yet been proven, it explains why the physical constants of our universe seem suitable for life.
