Immaculate conception - One in two hundred mothers in America claims to have become pregnant and given birth to a child without having sex or using IVF, writes the Independent. That is, these women believe that their children were born as a result of an immaculate conception.
The research is based on a study of the experiences of 7,870 women and girls aged 15 to 28, conducted from 1995 to 2009 as part of the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health.
At the same time, it is difficult to suspect girls of lying. According to scientists at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, these pregnant women had some common characteristics. 31% of girls took a "vow of chastity", usually for religious reasons.
However, 45% of self-proclaimed pregnant “virgins” admitted that their parents rarely or never talked to them about sex and contraception. Therefore, it can be assumed that the girls simply did not understand what they were doing with the guys and why it led to pregnancy.
Immaculate conception in humans is scientifically impossible. Therefore, all such cases are most likely people’s incorrect interpretation of their behavior.
In addition, there is a purely neurophysiological point associated with short memory. For some girls, the intimate relationship was such a big shock that they simply forgot about it. And some of the respondents became victims of party drugs - drugs that are used at parties and which lead to temporary memory loss. If you put such a drug in a girl’s drink, she simply won’t remember that she had sex.
