This young man's name was not Satoshi (or Ash is the US version), and it's not from the Pokemon game. He devoted his childhood time to developing monster catchers. For what purpose? Indeed not to become a champion trainer of monsters. He was born into a wealthy family and had a lot of money and free time. He just wanted to catch some monsters to watch and play with. Some study behavior, some give it to offspring, and the most significant discovery is they can evolve into another form as no one found it if you provide enough love to them. When he satisfies the little research, then lets all monsters go.
When he grew up, He officially established the Monster Research Institute. The children praised him as the father of monsters. He renamed himself after his favorite tree; people know him well as "Professor Oak."
