We’re told to grow, to process emotions the “right” way, to function in a world that breaks us down daily — gracefully, professionally, productively. To stay palatable. To be wanted. To be good women. To make others proud. But what if we’re tired? Tired of reconciling ourselves with dominant values, of being emotionally disciplined for the sake of belonging. What if we chose cringe instead of grace? Emotional collapse instead of coherence? Sudden rage, sudden laughter, misplaced tears, the thirst for affection, the impulse to self-sabotage?
