Mesmerized, are we?
It's funny to see how attached we are to a tool that was made through african and asian slavery ; a tool that cost one month of wage, and who record all our life to sell back our datas in an efficient profiled way to companies that will sell us a newer version of it.
Is the phone smart, or just smarter than us?
This print was created using 2 traditionals technics : the eau-forte and the aquatint :
-Eau-forte is the process of "biting" the copper through acid bath : first you have to cover a plate (here it's copper plate) of etching wax. Once it's dried you can draw on it. Then you bath the plate in the acid so it can bite the drawing on the matrix/plate.
-The aquatint is the technic that permit differents gradient greys on the plate throught the cooking of resin on it. Once the resin is cooked you proceed successive bath of acid, covering the clearer parts of wax through the process, until reaching the darkest part.
Then it's inking and printing.
