Turning 17 feels a little strange.
I don’t have everything figured out, and honestly, right now, not everything feels as bright as I wish it did. But maybe growing up isn’t about having all the answers. Maybe it’s about learning how to create your own light when you need it.
This piece was made in darkness. A black cat, a black background, and just enough light to find every line.
And I think there’s something beautiful about that.
Because you can’t create in complete darkness. You need a little light to see where you’re going. And sometimes, when life feels heavy, we have to become that little light for ourselves.
So, as I step into 17, I don’t want to wait for everything around me to become brighter.
I want to keep creating with the light I have.
With love, with patience, and with the hope that even in the darkest places, something beautiful can still grow.
