Lately, everything I've been spending my time has to do with eggs. I eat, breathe, study, obsess and admire that ordinary yet complex vessel of calcium.
Since I started eating at least 5 eggs a day from my chicken farm, I also feel warm in this little shell I call my body. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner have been a sack of energy with every bite. I used to shy away from this source of protein because I only saw it as something to start the day, not as something to rely on... I was wrong. I don't just see this oddly shaped ball that came from a chicken... I see life in me, or life inside of it, holding a world of possibilities shy of candlelight...
The egg came first so that new genes hatch from it. No yolk.
I had a taste of hope for leaping into the crazy journey of farming, surrounded by feathers did sound like a dream to lay my head to rest. Seeing how delicate and mighty it is to grow life from its first heartbeat into a reciprocal utility. Tasting your own love in your dishes is something we all have to enjoy during this lifetime.
I also tasted the possibility, in the fact that if I keep eating eggs, I might turn into one myself... and float on within my own viscous membrane.
