HELLHEART

HELLHEART is a spatial erasure poem created using a mix of digital & traditional techniques. Incorporating collaged vintage paper stocks & acrylic inks, ReVerse Butcher (rVb) juxtaposed parts of the ‘Hell’ & ‘Heart’ pages from an aged encyclopedia. Using over 60 layers of digital cut-and-paste techniques in Procreate for iPad, rVb created a complex 2D visual poetry (VISPO) work with 3D layers in mind. She also intentionally did not use either titular word. rVb moved from 2D to 3D-space using Mental Canvas for iPad, which allowed her to project certain layers, words & visual elements into 3D space. She created a video flythrough–giving the reader/viewer the feeling of physically moving through the poem in 3D space. rVb then composed an original soundtrack & performed the spoken lines of the poem live in VR (using Virtuoso VR) & edited the audio-visual elements together, presenting the final NFT artwork in a highly accessible & easily exhibited format.
