'heed Powers Stronger than the Mind'

i've always admired the Tarot card idea, and sometimes want to make a meaningful image which combines natural/green themes with less mystical, more nature-based/evolutionary understanding. This forms part of the 'Greenwise' series of illustrations (c. 2006) using pencil mixed digitally with photo-textures (wood grain) and highlights, to create a worn, timeless feel.

This edition, slightly animated as mp4 is an attempt to highlight the way our mental intentions or ideas can, or should be, more in sync with our own inner natures. Then, there are the underlying (and external) forces which are part of personal growth. As we are part of a collaborative, social species, everyone subjects their ideas and expectations onto others at some time.

There may be more/open interpretations here also (including your own).

Note: There are 2 detail/alternative editions made from this image which emphasise the symbols present, one animated and one static. They are 'Betwixt the Tree and the Castle' and 'The Tree and the Castle'. See also 'Greenwise Symbols'.

Life and Time is a river: go with your flow...!
