For the last 6 years I have been creating graphical movements with a Spirograph set of tools in a choreographed, programmatic way.
Remember the spirograph? A spirograph is a geometric drawing device that produces mathematical roulette curves of the variety technically known as hypotrochoids and epitrochoids.
In creating these movements, I experiment with ways to map inferences around the conditions, patterns, cycles, and coordinates of where I may be sitting (or where I see others may be sitting) in relation to one another and in any number of narratives.
Several of the concepts I’ve identified during the process of making this work indicate a relation to what is considered a life of programming. Everything from cultural programming, institutional, biological, parental, political, religious, and self-programming has a storyline.
