Elephants are one of my favourite animal to photograph. They are the most massive terrestrial animals on the planet. Amboseli National Park is the bastion of East Africa's elephant population, covering over 400 square kilometres of the wider Amboseli ecosystem and situated against Africa's highest mountain, Kilimanjaro. The wetlands and savannah are home to hundreds of elephants.
I was quite fortunate on this particular day. It was a beautiful foggy morning with less visibility; the sun was not up, but started showing the colours, after a 30 minute drive, we spotted a group of 15/20 elephants grazing. I saw this elephant standing alone on the right side, but I ignored him because I wanted to make some photos of the elephants standing right in front of the rising sun. After making those photos, I moved on to this elephant, who slowly started walking towards our vehicle, there were egrets around, he was huge, the light was perfectly falling on him, and the sky was glistening in blues. What a scene it was.
As he was close to my vehicle and I wanted to show the elephant, egrets, sky and the road, I used my 85mm with Nikon D850, and here is the output.
