This experiment is about taking an image with a repetitive pattern and shifting its hue, from a very high rate to slower and slower rates. The circle at the centre of the image shows the repetitive pattern. All the remaining pixels in the image have their hue shifted, in proportion to the square root of the distance of the pixel from the circle. At this very high hue shift rate, the rest of the image appears largely black and white, with smaller but growing coloured area emerging.
