Garrote

The Garrote is a complex object-symbol used by the peasants of the central west of Venezuela in their agricultural work and also used in the local martial art called "juego de garrotes" or "juego de palos". As a ritual artifact it is used as spiritual protection and initiates the tradition of the Sones de Negros, with the name of "La Batalla".
