FullJourney

“Full Journey” is an audiovisual piece with a curated selection of computer-generated drawings depicting our perception of Macao's unique character and Chinese cultural background. It is an artistic experiment with (AI) artificial intelligence-generated drawings based on human text prompts. This creative project attempts to understand and explore how, as artists, we can work with an AI to create our art but also question who the artist is and whether AI has the same vision of our world.

This artwork represents the artist’s own vision of the city - through selected keywords - as well as the globalised - and mainly with a Western bias - understanding of Macao by the AI. A mix of perspectives where the artist is guiding the “hand” of the AI without controlling it but rather is surprised by its reaction, like a dialogue to seek art and a sense of beauty.

One impressive artificial intelligence image creation tool, Midjourney, was used as an image generator for the selected keywords. The soundtrack is composed of sounds of Macao’s city streets and is also a part of an academic research project to analyze the city's Soundscape.
