This piece was a response to the frustration that emerges when two people you love are fighting and you're caught in the middle.
The woman's body is fracturing, her body is constructed using a crazy quilt blocking technique, but also varying layers of batting create a multi dimensional appearance with some pieces jutting out farther than others.
Her fracturing and frustration are due to being confined by a border she didn't consent to being built around her; a log cabin quilting frame confines her to a solitary cell.
In response to being caged in and cracking under the pressure, she raises a baton to try to break the walls to free herself.
Materials: cotton fabric pieced front, wool batting, worn velvet fabric backing, 33"x44" Constructed by hand and machine, digitally altered
