FOX FIRE

While on an evening hike to some hotsprings, I turned a corner and saw what appeared to be a fox running through the woods. A red streak amongst ashen woods that was cat-like but had the volume of a dog. There had been a recent forest fire so parts of the forest were bare and covered with ash. It was eerie andFor the rest of the hike and evening I felt as if I was being watched and sensed something was close. I was alone and my imagination kept filling in the gaps of the different shapes I was seeing in the dark woods. I thought I could see eyes watching me but I'll never be sure if it was real or my imagination. That experience was the inspiration for this piece.
